New Name. Same Firm.

From 4 September 2023, we rebranded from Ellis Terry to ET Intellectual Property.

Ellis Terry was founded in 2009 by partners of one of New Zealand’s oldest and largest intellectual property firms with the idea that we could provide IP services in a more agile way.

It is said that the only constant is change, and we certainly see this. Our clients’ needs have changed over time, and we have changed with them. From typewriters and faxes to AI and portals: a lot has changed since the firm was founded.

But our principles have not, and we remain committed to innovating to meet our clients’ IP needs in a way that best meets their business goals.

We are proud of our history, but recognise that we will continue changing with our clients. We therefore acknowledge this with a new name: as a reflection of where we’ve come from, but also a sign of where we are going.

We look forward to continuing to work with our clients as ET Intellectual Property.
